Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

He’s got no shot. None. Bloomberg spent his billion dollars to buy the D nomination and he was a miserable failure. JB’s got as much gravitas as Amy Kloubchar or Elizabeth Warren. JB would be lucky to come in 3rd place in the IL primary. An open D primary is just too irresistible for a megalomanic inherited billionaire. The schadenfreude of watching Pritzker spectacularly fail will be just fantastic.
Hopefully the US voters as a whole are not as easily fooled as Illinois voters are.

That alphabet media microscope lens is always in need of a cleaning when the slide has a democrat on it. Nothing so see or discover, and no curiosity is necessary. Just look at the good intentions, never mind the results.
The lens remains no less filthy when a republican is on the slide. The alphabet media instead have ample theories, conjecture and speculation (read: lies) from democrat operatives to make up their stories.
