“The best economic recovery of any city in the country?” Which country? Good lord! She must never have heard of Nashville, Austin, Miami, Charlotte, Charleston, etc. etc. Now she is getting laughs even in Europe.

I suspect that she surrounds herself with people too afraid to speak the truth, lest they find themselves the focus of her anger, so they tell her what she wants to hear…

It’s all sunshine & rainbows in LL land, meanwhile the lingering smell of a burning city gets stronger & stronger…

She may be right to a degree. Hospitals/ER’s are working round the clock taking care of shooting victims but not making money since none have insurance. She thinks Europeans are as dumb as Chicago voters. The weak are also subject to her slack jawed scowl! PIAPS! People are fleeing like an invading army is approaching. It’s like one of those scenarios where everyone knows she lies, she knows everyone thinks she’s a liar. Come to Chicago, the city will help you through a bankruptcy, for a small fee! I know from reports her entourage is 18. How many are armed security? Lori likes lots of security, it makes her look important. It’s also practical considering how wildly popular she’s become.

Does anyone think the Europeans are that stupid? Chicago’s crime and corruption stories and IL’s financial problems get world wide exposure as well as Boeing, Caterpillar, and Citadel leaving. Hard to slip past their attention. And is Lightfoot the kind of face of Chicago that impresses them?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
