Flannery: A CTU spokesperson said their official response was ‘F*** Wirepoints.’ – Ted on FOX32 (Chicago) with Mike Flannery

Ted was on with Mike Flannery of Fox 32 to discuss how Chicago leaders and the Chicago Teachers Union are failing students horribly by keeping dozens of near-empty schools open across the city. Flannery asked the CTU participate in the interview – their official response was “F*** Wirepoints.”

Interview starts at 8:30

But why isn’t any reporter asking for CTU official statements about the (low enrollment schools) data?

That’s precisely what Flannery did! Their on the record response was “Fuck Wirepoints” and that’s all, and they declined to join the show.

What is the response from ISBE? Aren’t they empowered by law to oversee welfare of all public schools?
(105 ILCS 5/2-3.3) (from Ch. 122, par. 2-3.3)
Sec. 2-3.3. Supervision of public schools.
To supervise all the public schools in the State.

Well, Susan, that maybe the law, but that gets ignored in Illinois in the interests of the CTU. They are really too powerful and ought to have their talons clipped. This is why Illinoisans must defeat Amendment 1 in November.

Well said. The CTU OWNS ‘Lil Lori as well as Pillburry Pritzker. The teacher unions in these large, democrat-run shitholes have destroyed public edumacation and parents are fleeing as a result. And the real estate taxes to support the failing schools are untenable. Again, people flee.

JackBolly

Ok. So now what? The CTU is confident it has ‘run of the mill’. No need to answer to critics. Amendment 1 will cement in any loose ends.

There were industries, and times in past history, when unions did a good job protecting workers. Most of those times and places are decades, even centuries– past. The CTU has become a permanent stain on the history of organized labor and it continues to destroy lives. The statistics in this chart are just stunning, and make one ill just thinking about the thousands of poor young people who are ending up in the dumpster because of this union.

Wirepoints: Putting the “F” in Education Funding.

nixit

Your “CPS empty schools” article made the rounds in the liberal-leaning education advocate social media circles and had them asking tough, honest questions about how education dollars are being spent. CTU doesn’t like those types of questions.

This saying about people directly applies to the CTU’s statement:

“Pay attention to what people say to you out of anger, they’ve been dying to tell you that”.

The CTU Communists have controlled CPS schools for generations. I’m sure many of us Chicago and suburban natives have distant ancestors raised in Chicago, who at some point, fled to the suburbs. I know for a fact my ancestors left Chicago for the suburbs precisely because the public schools were awful. This was in the 1950’s. They got tired of paying for private schools and took their chances on newly built public schools in the middle of large tract home subdivisions in the suburbs instead. Nothing has changed with these people for generations.

Anyone with even the slightest interest in our children’s education owes it to himself or herself to view Peter Hegseth’s series on Fox Nation “The mis-education of America.” I learned more from this five-part series than I’d imagined I would. The names of various educators that I was taught to revere in my four years of Chicago and suburban education turn out to be the vanguard of the wokesters who’ve turned education into indoctrination over the past century. The series allowed me to take a fresh look at America’s checkered history of education. Today we hear that respect for the… Read more »

There was a time that this was the correct play. However it is time to take the gloves off. Also, lowering yourself to their level, is how you will get them to understand your point. This type of thing raises eyebrows and certainly not your words Mark. It’s their words and identifies them for who they are. Or just turn the cheek and use big words and concepts they won’t even understand.

Mark. I came up with this a while back. Just tell them go 3-8 yourself or just 3-8. Think about it for a moment why 3-8? Ready. The 3 is under the D E F and the U is over the T U V in the old rotary dial phones/. Simple. Go 3-8 or FU without being crass. I should get a royalty if this catches on.
Most people won’t have a clue on what the person means except old fogeys like myself.

This is why it is impossible to talk logically to a leftist. Facts that deny their position are irrelevant.

There is a truth out there. The CTU’s stance toward school closure – and it is an understatement to call it a “stance” – has a rationale. It is all about teacher and support staff jobs. The CTU cannot publicly admit this – I am not sure why – because preserving jobs is a feature of a number of urban school systems – look at Baltimore where a .13 gpa at one high school put a student in the middle of the class! There is no reason for a school like that to exist. I suspect that they know there… Read more »

So true.  You’re right about talking to many liberals because it’s NOT about truth.  It’s about the narrative or ‘your’ truth or ‘my’ truth.  Truth is not an absolute to a woke leftist.  It’s what they feel.  You cannot have a rational conversation with that mindset.

The CTU spokesperson learned this behavior from BD Lori. When someone presents facts, you lash out with indignation.

As do all democrats. When challenged about the failed policies of any democratic administration what happens is they say “I don’t want to talk about it” and walk away. Heads up their rectal area is common among liberals and democrats.

Well, you wouldn’t have heard that from any of the nuns that taught me in the 60’s.

They might have even prayed for Jesse Sharkey. Unlike Jesse and the CTU, they were truly on a mission from God.

The teachers’ foul, illiterate response to simple facts is a perfect reflection of why kids learn nothing in CPS.

Ataraxis

This is great!
Wirepoints is directly over the target and the CTU has no answer.
As happens with all communist and dictatorial regimes going back 100 years, they’ve been exposed with their own data and now can only turn to rage.
It’s telling that they can’t fall back on their usual woke arguments of doing things “for the children”, or for the “disadvantaged”, the “marginalized”, or “the least able in society”.
Keep hammering these charlatans!

Congratulations on making it to the big time ! Having the CTU say that is a compliment to your intelligence, perseverance and diligence. Thanks so much, Wirepoints for all your research and reporting, shedding light on the corruption and sleaze in the CTU, the city of Chicago and state of Illinois. Keep fighting the good fight and the good guys might win in the end. For now, the bad guys know you’re after them.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
