448 People Killed in Chicago This Year, But Homicide Rate Remains Down From Last Year – WTTW (Chicago)

Per the CPD, homicides in the city this year are down about 16% compared to 2021, while the total number of shootings (1,904) is down nearly 19%. But homicides year-to-date in 2022 are up some 35% compared to 2019 figures. In total, more than 2,352 people have been shot in Chicago thus far in 2022.

The real number is 479. Remember Xway homicides don’t count according to the city, neither do shootings as they are under control of the Illinois State Police. Those shootings and homicides just disappear. Get the real numbers @ HEYJACKASS.COM

If the past is guide, crime will remain elevated for a decade or more until a new generation comes along and gets tough on crime.
