Bailey will be lucky to get 42%. He will lose in Cook and surrounding counties.

Bailey will win 95 of 102 counties and still lose by a large margin. Cook/County/Chicago will vote overwhelmingly for Pigster.

Yes. Not being able to win the most important counties will cause you to lose by a large margin. Winning those tiny population areas do wonders for coloring a map but nothing for winning an election.

https://www.cookcountyclerkil.gov/elections/results-and-election-data/election-data/voter-registration-and-turnout-1990-2022 Suburban cook primary turnout was very low this year, 19.6%, the second lowest in 32 years, the lowest being 2014 being the Red Wave year, which elected Rauner. Biden’s unpopularity is a noose around JB’s neck, and around every Dem’s neck, and everyone knows this. Dems are fickle voters in mid-terms and especially so in IL. Biden is really, really unpopular with independents, and JB needs those independent voters to split their ticket. Vote for him at the top, even though all signs point to independent straight ticket voting for Republicans. There’s a path to Bailey’s victory, and it… Read more »

Even with Biden’s unpopularity and yet Bailey is still under 40%. You are expressing your hopes but not reality. There was a path for a strong candidate but Bailey is not that man. No war chest to compete with JB and not popular with Chicago and surrounding suburbs.

Please tell us on November 9th and let us know what went wrong on this special path to victory. I look forward to reading all the excuses.

These are women who were relatively normal in 2019, but disliked Trump, the last time I saw them. But they see… Read more »

Is this a good enough excuse for you? Neurotic AWFLs who can’t stop thinking about Trump?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
