Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Anne Burke to retire in November – CBS2 (Chicago)

The Illinois Supreme Court has appointed Illinois Appellate Court Justice Joy Cunningham to fill Burke's vacant seat on the court for the remainder of her term, through Dec. 2, 2024. Burke's term as chief justice ends Oct. 24, and the court has selected Justice Mary Jane Theis as the next chief justice.

We will be paying her ridiculous pension for ever. The whole thing sucks. Where is the law, where is the investigations that out these people, where is the justice? These people will just walk into the sunset and we get to pay and pay…there is no justice.
