Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. These dopes should go into social work, lol…
They ARE in social work, but they call it a business.
Yes they can bigger donuts with more frosting lol
This article is a microcosm on why socialism never seems to deliver no mater how hard it’s tried or when the consequences of being a capitalist us death.
Seriously, there was a reason there was nothing to buy on Soviet Union store shelves in the 1970s and woke blue state Democrats still can’t wrap their heads around cause & effect.
This article is painful. A non-profit coffee shop purposely operating at a loss because they don’t want to pass along some of the increased costs their customers who are largely still too afraid to dine indoors at cafes. Business models based on precociousness. Then we wonder why there aren’t any “x” in neighborhood “y”.
With all the hubbub about unionizing Starbucks why don’t all these unionistas patronize these small shops instead? On the flipside, how does the compensation at a small coffee shop compare to that of a Starbucks?
Here’s another gem, ““It’s a good day if we lose $50 instead of $100. Our goal has always been to just break even, but it’s a lot harder to do that now.””
This person must have attended an Ivy MBA program.
This is actually sweet poetic justice watching these libs lose their businesses. Maybe they’ll learn, but probably not.
“I still don’t eat indoors right now, That’s just not a place that I’m comfortable in yet, and many of the people in my social circles are still in that place, as well. So, there’s this loss of a certain customer base that still hasn’t come back”
These are the dipsh*t libs that make up the majority of this state and are going to vote. They are afraid of a ghost because they were told to be. They have zero original thoughts or ambitions, they just do and think what they’re told. It’s hopeless for IL at this point.
