I agree that Socialist is not the right word. It’s easy to make the case that Communist is more accurate. When you start with socialist economic policies and add a concerted effort create a one-party state by demonizing if not criminalizing the opposition, suppression of free speech, censorship, disregard for rule of law, politicized justice department….
These authoritarians are referring to their opponents as fascists, all while using government agencies to harass and intimidate those who dare oppose.
