You mean like building a big beautiful wall and make Mexico pay for it?

Neither party has a monopoly on lying to the public.

He tried, there’s a lot of evidence he really tried to build the wall, but congress wouldn’t pay for it. Trump is not a dictator, as much as I wish he was. But Trump’s immigration policies were a virtual wall. A 20 second internet search shows the precipitous decline in immigrants during his first 100 days in office that lasted throughout his presidency, and he stopped immigration almost entirely during the pandemic. And given that we’ve had 5,000,000 new illegal immigrants just in the last 21 months cross over the border during Biden’s time in office, I really do wish… Read more »

Are you really making the argument that only Republican politicians lie? That’s absurd. Trump is and was a habitual liar. Both parties lie. Quit trying to act like Republicans are pure on this issue.

I never made the argument that only Republican politicians lie.

I was calling out your repeating of the Democrat narrative that Trump’s building of the wall was a lie. I pointed out that Trump tried to get the wall built, he tried through various different avenues to get it built. None of them worked. That doesn’t make it a lie. But he achieved the goal of restricting immigration, which was the purpose of the wall, and the platform he ran out.

My original point was that both parties lie. I then provided an example of one of Trump’s lies. It’s not a partisan narrative but what actually happened. He had absolutely zero ability to make Mexico pay even if congress approved the wall. It was a lie from the beginning and only a gullible partisan hack would have believed it or continue to defend it.

Your just repeating a Democrat talking points and narrative. Your example is like a fact checker saying, “WELL AKSCHULLY”. It wasn’t a lie. No serious person expected Mexico to write a check. But he did make them pay for it.

It’s not partisan. It’s just factual. He said he would build a wall. He didn’t. Now you say he tried. He didn’t say he would try but that he would actually build it. Now you claim he built a virtual wall. Fine, that’s not what he promised. He said he would make Mexico pay for it. He didn’t make them pay and he didn’t build a wall. The facts are clear. He did not maintain his promise just as Obama didn’t maintain his promise that you could keep your healthcare. They are the same level policy lies that all politicians… Read more »

I expect nothing better from any initiative under the Obama name with this cast of disinformation professionals.

Their rallying cry? “Divide and conquer!”

Will it never stop?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
