Lori Lightfoot ripped by Chicago media for ignoring concerns about police scanner suppression- FOX News

"Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s administration has refused to meet with members of the Chicago media who have voiced concern this will impact journalists’ ability to cover events as they unfold and warn the public about ongoing threats to safety," Chicago outlet WGN9 reported. As an example, the media was not able to report in real-time recently when a man armed with a rifle walked through a Chicago neighborhood, later being shot by police.

Crazy that this happens less than a month before the safe T act goes into play.

Good people won’t know when the brownshirts are coming for them.
Violent, out of control crime, censorship, police hands tied from doing their jobs and a Pending bill For the Protection of Communities to ban certain guns, mags, etc. Makes you feel real protected from the criminal class, NOT.
This is a Communists dream

The media is upset about this issue with the police scanners but not a word about her outright lies in her election commercials?

I don’t see the problem. So what if the media can’t listen in. They will continue to just make up stories as they have for the last decade or so. They are no longer journalists but have become creative fiction writers. You can’t trust anything they print online or talk about on TV news.

I believed everything in the Tribune until one day in the 80s I had personal knowledge of a story that was thoroughly miss-reported. After that I viewed all news stories with a jaundiced eye.

Credibility was borderline when Alden bought and gutted the paper. Now it’s bird cage liner quality.

What a loss for Chicago! No serious inquiry or credible, nonpartisan reporting. Sad.

That’s a discussion I’ve had many times: history is written by history’s winners. There are often three truths: my truth, your truth and the real truth. We all bring our history to any event or discussion. I’ve always believed that every news story has built-in reporter’s bias. But never, never did I ever expect that it would reach the extremes we have come to see now. The divide is so wide that it’s nearly impossible to find a news report that isn’t biased – on any side. And the old ‘lies of omission.’ News stories that aren’t reported … or… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
