Expect no retraction or apology. This what they do.
“All the news that’s fit to print” and “Democracy dies in darkness” are simply “mission statements.” How many of THOSE have you read that are something other than forlorn hopes of some publicist? I’d as soon believe a campaigning politician. Meanwhile, majority politicians and mainstream media are simply alter-egos. Disregarding both seems to be easier than trying to change them.
WLS channel 7 should spend less time presenting Disney commercials as news. They have ignored Illinois financial woes and national security and the border invasion completely.
That newscast has gone as woke as the rest of the Disney Corp. I used to watch the news several times a week. Now I never watch it.
Channel 9 is DNC TV.
Not true, WSJ. The Chicago media dutifully regurgitates press releases from their bosses at the DNC and woke interest groups.
In addition to underreporting the Pritzker/Foxx crime wave.
Spot on about the Trib and Sun Times. How they continue to hang on is a mystery.
Anyone with critical thought skills, have, over the last 20 years watched Chicago newspapers become nothing more than DNC news, along with 2,5,7, and 9…especially 9.
Don’t forget public radio and TV: NPR and WTTW.

Kill the messenger. The newspapers do not make the news, they report on the news. And the news in the Shitty of Chicago is robberies, car jackings, shootings, and killings on a daily basis. All the high paid cops and firemen only make out reports and pick up bodies. It may get better the year that the Cubs win the World Series, and the Bears win the Super bowl.
But do they? When I read my local Trib beat reporter online covering city hall, the leftward slant from the 25 year old ‘journalist’ is so far to the left that I fall out of my seat. Mark, what you say is true. Over the last couple years I find I get the most perspective on the city and region from Wirepoints, CWB Chicago and Chicago Contrarian. Second City Cop is gone, the sun times is just a branch of leftist PBS and covers their points of view, the Tribune is liberal rag, and the daily herald sucks up to pritzker and other leftist causes. Funny, while the writer of the wsj piece talks about crime stories, the newspapers don’t cover that, which from my perspective is because it makes the D politicians they worship look bad.… Read more »
The local rumor mill and facebook groups provide the best ‘local’ news these days. That’s how I learn what’s going on. I don’t rely on the local beat reporter for anything.
