Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. 4 shot, 3 dead on the once peaceful northwest side by a convicted felon just out of jail for less than 3 months and on parole for a home invasion where 2 people were murdered. The shooter had been convicted twice previously for armed robbery yet committed a home invasion after getting out of prison. On parole, not allowed to possess a firearm, convicted felon, not allowed to possess a firearm so this person will now obey the democrats new gun safety bill? The political leadership in Illinois is nothing but a joke. Why? Democrats.
You might think they’re a joke. But they’re dead serious. They know that turning legal gun owners into felons won’t stop crime. But stopping crime is not the point. The point, as the bill’s sponsor said, is to stop the legal ownership and purchase of these guns and the magazines, and turn legal owners into Class 2 felons. Because they hate you. They’re weaponizing the state against you.
I’m not following one section of this proposed law. Send me to prison and I can let the state pay for my upkeep. After paying taxes for years I’ll finally get something for free.

FLASH: criminals don’t follow laws! Instead of passing new laws how about enforcing the ones on the books?

They’re not stupid. They know who is committing all the gun crimes. They know these laws won’t stop any crimes.
But that’s not the point. The point of this new law is to go after you. Because they hate you. They want to make you a felon so they can drag you out of your house in your underwear and hold you in pretrial detention for a class 2 felony.
They’re weaponizing the law against the people they hate, just as they’ve done in Rhode Island and Oregon these past few weeks.
CC sheriff, CPD brass are useless twits or as it once was said “they wouldn’t be a pimple on a policeman’s ass”.
Nothing says we’re looking out for the best interests of the public like secretly ramming a vague bill through on Christmas Eve or New Year’s eve during a lame duck session with little debate and no time for adequate public hearings or comments. Has anyone mentioned in the hearings the outright contempt for the public that these people have? This bill could potentially make literally thousands of people felons – people that purchased firearms legally and in good faith. Cook County states attorney Kim Foxx refuses to vigorously prosecute violent criminals because many of them are of that certain ethnicity that is responsible for an overwhelming amount of the violent crime, shootings and murders that happen in Chicago. Putting the people responsible for causing all of this violence in prison for long periods of time would be a good start to stop what’s going on. Illinois democrats have a better idea, turn thousands of law abiding gun owners into criminals.

But these are the same people that vote for Kim Foxx, and/or are related to people who vote for Kim Foxx. She elected precisely because she is not putting people in jail. It’s like the criminals running the prisons or the insane running the asylum. That’s Cook County.
