Do it Evanston, do it now. Accelerate! Force them to pay in the hundreds of millions. Just think of the equity. They can build 5 bedroom homes outright for every black family in town with the Northwestern endowment.
The problem for Evanston is the bad publicity of not paying their fair share means nothing to a university with a mile long waitlist and huge endowment.

Can NU move out of Evanston? If not, no problem. The increase in cost to make payments to the City of Evanston can be absorbed by increases in already sky-high tuition rates.
People might be leaving Evanston due to their Socialist polices.Not everyone wants to be dependent on the government.
But … they have the cash to pay reparations! What a travesty.
Meanwhile cash strapped Evanston wants a guaranteed income program to be put in place. Idiotic. Need money and complain but start throwing money away is okay. BRILLIANT!
Maybe if you ran the Peoples Republic of Evanston like a business instead of a Social Justice Candy Store, you wouldn’t have people and businesses fleeing and a dumpster fire of a budget.
If the tinpot Marxist junta that runs Evanston wasn’t so hostile to business, businesses wouldn’t have left/avoided Evanston over the last several decades, and residents would have stayed instead of pulling up stakes.
