Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The Hezbollah Wing of the House GOP is having a moment. Too bad it’s a moment of sh*tting the bed.
This is the Congressional equivalent of a “throw all your toys out of the playpen” temper tantrum.
LOL, 20 staunch conservatives in the house are demanding that McCarthy play hardball against Democrats exactly as Nancy Peolsi did to Republicans and: balance budgets, a vote on term limits, release of all J6 committee documents, and some other committee positions.
McCarthy has mostly said “No.”
Don’t buy the Democrat party lines that this is “chaos”. This is democracy. They wont’ be laughing when key Democrats members are stripped of their committee positions and their tax releases are returned.
As much as the Democrats are a disaster, they know how to paper over differences to get things done.
Communist China knows how to get things done too, just like the DNC. I’ll take 20 GOP members pushing for a conservative agenda against the RINO establishment every time. This is what a Republic is supposed to look like.
It seems like the clash with McCarthy isn’t about conservative ideas. It’s about these 20 feeling slighted over McCarthy’s style of management — and his not signing on for all their bombastic excesses.
Tucker: “You don’t want to ruled by a man who wears a Ukrainian flag lapel pin and who lives with Frank Luntz?”

As entertaining and provocative as Tucker may be, these are personality/leadership style points — not the issues of basic conservative principles that should be the focus of the GOP.
Ukraine is a policy position – I don’t give two nothings what happens to Ukraine. Frank Luntz is a Democrat who whispers sweet nothings into McCarthy’s ear. McCarthy is a conservative but far too comfortable with the status. He has no desire to shake things up. He has no desire to punch back at the Democrats as hard as Pelosi did. Look where McConnell is right now – touring with Biden, riding in the presidential limo, touting the 1.7$ spending bill they passed in a lame duck session that every ones hates. I think McCarthy is smart enough to recognize… Read more »
