$1.5M worth of food stolen by Harvey school official: Prosecutors – NewsNation

“The massive fraud began at the height of COVID during a time when students were not allowed to be physically present in school,” reads a document presented at Vera Liddell’s bond hearing. Court records accuse Liddell of ordering more than 11,000 cases of chicken wings from the school district’s food provider and then picking up the order in a district cargo van.

BFD, it’s government money ; it’s free for the taking. The entire NE corner of Illinois is a nest of thieves.

Public Sector “workers” are natural born grifters. No morals. No conscience. They simply see the real working taxpayers as a source of revenue.

That’s a whole lot of wings. How many kids does she have? I suspect this will result in a slap on the wrist and a stay at home order that requires her to make wings.

The real issue is the complete lack of controls. How was this 66 year old food service manager able to order $1.5M worth of food that cannot be served to children (wing bones are not suitable for children). And the only reason the district looked into it because at less than the halfway point in the school year they were $300,000 over budget? Harvey suffers from quite a few afflictions. I don’t understand the recklessness.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
