Durbin at least gets it. Being in DC and occasionally dealing with ‘the other side’ he knows that Chicago is the poster boy laughing stock for dysfunctional big cities. Democrats don’t understand or realize how mocked and derided Chicago is throughout the rest of the country that’s even slightly purple. Even moderate blue places look at Chicago as crazy. But mention this to a Chicago Democrat and they scream at you like you’re a liar and agitator!

I suppose that there may be some influential national Dem Pol’s who are worried about another big blue-city dumpster fire.

Particularly since much of CTU’s Marxist/Socialist wish-list is right out of the national Woke Dem playbook.

CTU getting the mayor’s office with plenty of time prior to the 2024 elections to make Chicago a whole lot worse, using all the progressive-n-woke-Dem’s official ‘solutions,’ probably does give Durbin et al the vaporous willies.

What were you thinking – A Leftist is better than a Marxist?

Hopefully Vallas is not a Marxist, but if he is elected time will tell.

This is kinda a big deal, dickie being first national dem heavyweight to get behind moderate Vallas vrs wack-o progressive CTU/Brandon….maybe in dc their getten worried about old uncle joe in 24 and they don’t want to get behind a progressive trainwreck in chitcago? They saw what happened to de blasio in nyc,( or sf, la, etc for that matter). don’t forget bill neidhardt is Brandons campaign manager who was de blasio & Sanders campaign managers.

Wish this was true.

The “steal machine” is now embedded into our election system.

We will never have free & fair elections again, ever, sadly.

Joe Biden will win in 2024. It will be called after 9pm CT, just like Obama in 2012.

The fix is already in. Between now and then the grift goes on.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
