Johnson is a CTU organizer, and getting him into City Hall means CTU dominance over Chicago ahead of the next contract negotiations.

Time for a racketeering/fraud probe of crooked corrupt CTU

In addition to his organizing duties, Brandon Johnson is a registered lobbyist with the Illinois Secretary of State and CTU LM-2 filings with the U.S. DOL indicate his Legislative Coordinator job duties included lobbying. Since November 2022 Mr. Johnson has been on unpaid leave from CTU eligible to use his accrued paid time leave benefit. He is a member of the CORE (Caucus of Rank and File Educators) caucus in CTU, whose members have been in CTU leadership since the June 10, 2010 CTU election. CPS has cancelled classes many times while negotiating with CTU under CORE leadership: Illinois Policy Institute… Read more »

A notable point if Johnson were to win the election: Since Public Sector Unions violate the US Constitution, a union leader mayor lawsuit would bring that crime to the forefront and end Public Sector Unions across the US. Freedom for taxpayers across America.

During the 2023 – 2027 Chicago Mayor term the City of Chicago School District 299 (Chicago Public Schools aka CP) will undergo a phased transition from a Mayor appointed school board, to a hybrid Mayor appointed / voter elected school board, to a 100% to voter elected school board. Board memberships, etc. are a poor resume for someone expected to manage a budget the size of Chicago’s.

Johnson’s lack of experience is telling – in that it was reported today on the major news outlets that he is behind on utility bills for his Chicago residence and has over $6K in fines for late/non payment.

If he can’t manage his household finances how can he handle Chicago’s finances?

Mr. Johnson is simply not qualified and has a lot of gall running when he doesn’t pay his own bills. What hubris!

If they are borrowing that $$$, they should expect a visit from the State Attorney General, because that would be very illegal. But it’s ILL and it’s the CTU, so nothing to see here.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
