If anything, he thinks that many Black Americans would benefit from Republican policies, if only the national GOP stopped waging culture wars and focused instead on economic empowerment and policies.

Either you believe in Republican values, or you don’t. Republican values are universal and do not depend on race. Republicans don’t need to become ‘woke’ and abandon cultural issues – do they really think adopting progressive positions on gender/crt/LBGTQ is going to make anyone switch sides? No, of course not.
