14-year-old shot Friday night as ‘large group’ gathers nearby at 31st Street Beach – CWB Chicago

An internal Chicago police message sent Friday around 7:30 p.m. said “approximately 350 teens” were gathered at the beach, and a squad car window had been broken. On Thursday evening, more than 100 young people spontaneously gathered in Millennium Park until a fight broke out, prompting police to break it up.

Even worse disturbances Saturday night downtown and Millennium Park. Busses and cars smashed, people beaten, tourist’s protected. Where were all Brandon’s social workers at to de escalate and reason with these hundreds of youths.

Just a fraternity stunt from nearby U of C or perhaps just boisterous suburban youth enjoying the smelt netting season. No danger, nothing to see, move along!
