In other states, people escaping blue counties accounted for almost all their population losses. In Illinois, for example, 91% of the state’s 282,048 net population loss came from counties that voted for Biden
Ken Griffen took billions of tax dollar with him. The Chitty said go ahead and leave.
Ken Griffin is something of a Wall Street all-star. The founder and CEO of the hedge fund Citadel pocketed roughly $4.10 billion last year, making him one of the most successful hedge funds managers in history. He earned every dollar, too: Citadel smashed records in 2022, with profits of roughly $16 billion, which CNN called “the biggest annual windfall on record.”

Let us look at Tennessee, ancestral home to duelist and President Andrew Jackson, marksman Davy Crockett and others. They’ve enjoyed an influx of blue state ex-pats and now endure protests over gun control. Many folks fleeing crime and high taxes forget to leave their government control over self control attitudes behind.
It is not because of Biden; it is because of the high taxation. Overly generous pensions have caused an explosion in taxes. Most retirees live a modest life, government retirees live a luxury life. The pension time bomb is exploding all over the US in the northern democratic states. It is going to hurt them economically as people flee to Texas and Florida to get away from the taxes. They will end up ruining these states also, but it will take year to do it.
I know a HS algebra teacher in the western burbs who retired at 58 after teaching for 35 years with a starting pension of $104K. He was making $158K when he retired!!
IMO he was probably overpaid by 25% and contributed hardly anything to his golden pension.
This is why property taxes average 2.25% in Illinois vs 0.6% in CO where I live.

Guess most were the minority who voted for DJT?
Taxistan is only going to increase taxes going forward to pay the Dems masters the Illinois public sector unions.
I voted with my feet over 20 years ago and have an extra $200K in my bank account due to my smart financial decision.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
