Some young people fear fallout of Loop chaos could be more racial profiling – CBS2 (Chicago)

very teenager out on the streets of the Loop last Saturday night was not there to start trouble. CBS 2's Terry caught up with a group of supervised youngsters who became swept up in the "takeover" mayhem – and who now fear when, and if, they come back downtown, people will look at them with side eyes because they, in their words, "fit the description."

If you are not running wild in the streets , why would you fear the police?

“…someone with clout…?” Don’t recall anyone with ‘clout’ telling us what to do when we were teenagers/young adults. OR offering us jobs.

We’re raising oversized babies, not independent young adults.

What a disservice to society and the young. SHAME!

It’s facinating in that it’s essentially culture and education on full display; for those with eyes to see.

Geez, finally someone in the media, CBS, admits that the troublemakers were majority Black teenagers. What a shocking revelation. And you have to feel sorry for the good Black young folks caught up in this mess. They are certainly going to suffer some undeserved consequences of all these disturbances. But guess what, a little racial profiling is what is necessary. The good Black kids were not afraid of whites downtown were they?

They say there’s nothing to do in their neighborhood. Why are they going downtown? Shopping? Restaurants? There are beaches and parks all along the lakefront. No, it’s because if there’s a crowd of 99% black teens, there’s nothing to stop them from mayhem incited by social media.

Yes it’s a shame that 99% of blacks give the rest a bad name

Unfortunately, that’s the perception. A truthful comment would have been closer to the reverse.

The looters, thugs, and rioters are the minority, but you’d never know that.

It looks like that minority was downtown in force on that weekend.

“I feel like somebody with a lot of clout just needs to show us there’s other stuff to do,” said Latanesha

The CPS education system went superwoke and turned CPS into a woke madrassas. Except that the educators themselves are pretty stupid too, and when stupid people try to teach stupid people, you end up getting even more stupidity. The indoctrination program has mostly failed, they barely remember anything about pronouns or privilege, and instead, they’ve created a generation of wildings who can’t read, write, or follow rules. What a complete disaster.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
