Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. RINOs & fifth column folks are complete idiots. They have no idea what they’re doing and don’t understand the enormous downside risk associated with what they perceive as short term sacrifices of social integrity for their own personal gain. I’ve spent a lot of time studying political movements, and things often shift dramatically for the worst in a den of thieves with no morals. I got an e-mail about that earlier. Let’s see what the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals says on Monday. It’s likely they’ll vacate the injunction, and then we have a complete mess that will go on for years.

Old Joe and Dave, I disagree on this. Hinz has this mostly right. I live in New Trier and know many right of center voters who aren’t RINOs but are turned off by those new local party leaders, so many have disengaged. I don’t follow or care much about all the intra-party fighting, but it’s pretty clear both sides need to figure out how to get along if they ever expect to win Illinois elections. The center right people you know are either 1) not voting, like you said, disengaged, or 2) voting for Biden and aren’t about to abandon the Democrat Party anytime soon, even if they believe the Democrats have gone crazy. They tried to kick me out. They actually asked for a $3,000 payment up front for a routine medical procedure even though we had insurance provide, basically, through that hospital system. My spouse told them no!

This is a classic propaganda article. I’ve mentioned here before how re-posting this garbage actually amplifies the encoded message and benefits opposition in numerous ways. What’s going on? I thought we were making progress. Explaining the science behind this stuff is really eye-opening and a great opportunity for winning the trust and support of readers.

Agreed Mark. More importantly it won’t change minds but only harden the views of the already converted. It’s a weapon used by those that can’t discuss the merits of their position. It’s sad that we have more ways to communicate our thoughts than ever before but so many sites censor preventing free thought and discussion. What was the point of this article, that north shore Republicans should be more like Democrats? The north shore Republicans of yesterday have all moved away, or died, and less commonly, embraced the left-side of the culture wars to ‘fit in’ with their neighbors. Why exactly does Hinz have a column at Crain’s again? The elites have all turned progressive now, and you don’t fit in unless you agree that kids should be transed, by the state, and kept secret from parents. That’s what the north shore is now.
