Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

I have to laugh at this. The current head of the CPUSA, who lives in Chicago, was a former client of mine in a workforce program. I had to negatively exit the slacker because he refused to buckle down and look for a real job. He was always finagling to get “free stuff – that’s why he lives in a crappy basement apartment in a crummy area of Rogers Park, lol…
That party is indeed a joke. The Socialist party is not, however, with I think 6 members in Chicago City Council including new Zoning committee chairman. Brandon is a Marxist in all but name. It’s fair to ask if today’s leftists, on the whole, cannot be called communists instead of leftists. When you combine socialist economics with all their other crap, including opposition to free speech, that’s communism as most people would define it.
