Community activists demand Chicago’s violence be treated as public health emergency – Center Square

Tio Hardiman of the community group Violence Interrupters said many in Chicago feel they have no choice but to turn to violence. "If we do not address this epidemic of gun violence as a public health emergency or a public health issue, we may miss the opportunity to really change the landscape overall."

No, just implement effective law enforcement policies and watch the violent crime rates plummet. It’s not rocket science.

Some (but not all) in the community want their cake, and they want to eat it too: They want low crime but they don’t want to use arrest/prosecution/incarceration to achieve it. This is course is pure fantasy land because no other civilization on earth has figured it out. AOC suggests that a world without police is like the suburbs. She said this. “As if there is some magic solution to lower crime, other than arresting criminals, that no other society in the history of the world has figured out.” Yep, these “progressives” don’t seem to want to learn from history. Public Health Emergency? Does that mean that Chiraqis will be forced to stay ay home while wearing face diapers. Another lefty solution that will never work. Ask Lori how well it worked. Arrests, Convictions and Jail WILL WORK.
