‘State of Black Chicago’ highlights outcome disparities between Black and white Chicagoans – WBEZ (Chicago)

According to the report from the Chicago Urban League, the city lost approximately 85,000 Black residents over the last 12 years. CUL is asking the city to consider adopting various types of reparations to counteract past injustices that continue to harm Black residents today.

What are differences in reading comprehension levels between black and white residents? Suspect that black residents with a 12th grade reading comprehension level earn as much, if not more, than white residents with same comprehension level. It’s a class issue, compounded by fact that CPS fails to sufficiently educate its CPS HS graduates to perform at 12th grade (or even 9th grade) reading/math proficiency levels. A significant percentage of CPS HS graduates are functionally illiterate. If you think about it Welfare, SNAP, WIC and every other safety net program since LBJ has been a managed reparation program.

Well LBJ, I consider it a slow bleed to the productive elements of society and yes its been going on for 60 years. It’s why Old Joe has paid 30% of his earnings to the gubmint since he started working.

So the way to stop Black Chicagoans from fleeing Chicago is to redistribute money. Just for argument’s sake, let’s say they got their $1,000,000 each from Chicago, would they be required to stay in the city limits? Or would they just use that money to buy massive homes in Barrington Hills?
