Alderman blames poverty, social media after 5 juveniles crash in stolen vehicle with weapon – WBBM (Chicago)

South Side Ald. William Hall says the kids are being raised by cell phones instead of parents. "When we look at the conditions in which poverty has simply destroyed and flatlined neighborhoods and communities, this is what comes with it,” he said. “You have parents working two to three jobs just to make ends meet."

I immediately suspect DonaldvTrump. I doubt the opinion of an Alderman counts for anything. Speaking of skulks, where is Danny Solis these days? Alderman!

Don’t blame single-parent homes. Don’t blame the culture of violence. Instead blame social media.

How short sighted!

It couldn’t be lack of home training…could it?

There’s no depths of depravity that the tribal leaders can’t find an excuse for.

Lots of people have been raised by parentS (emphasis on the plural) working 2-3 jobs. The glorification of single motherhood as a „noble” pursuit, and then subsidizing it, has had predictable results.

Oh, and let’s not forget Mr. Alderman, that many of these „parents” are just as addicted to their phones and social media as their kids are. It’s Timothy Leary’s „turn on, tune in, drop out” for whole new generation.

Then Chicago definitely needs one or 10 of these Whose Your Daddy DNA trucks. Hard to believe these trucks exist.

What we may find out is that Nick Cannon is the father of all these kids.

Hmmmm.

I wonder how many of these five teens found in a crashed stolen car with a gun live with parents who work “two or three jobs to make ends meet.”

I wonder who pays for the smart phone that the alderman claims is raising these adolescent criminals?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
