Search for suspects still on in Juneteenth celebration mass shooting that left 1 dead and at least 22 hurt – CNN

Investigators on Sunday work the scene of a mass shooting in Willowbrook, Illinois. It’s not clear what led to the gunfire, where the shooters were when deputies responded or whether the suspects knew any of the victims. “The motive behind this incident is unclear and this is still an active investigation,” DuPage County Deputy Sheriff Eric Swanson said. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tweeted Sunday, “We have reached out to offer assistance to state and local leaders in the wake of this tragedy at a community Juneteenth celebration.”

And as usual no one wants to comment on who the gang of 300 young people were. Was it a bunch of Italian kids? Irish kids? Puerto Rican kids? Youths from Humboldt Park or Lincoln Park. Of course the cops know, the press knows and City Hall knows. But no one wants to address the problem, so the problem goes on and on ignored.

Interesting how a supposed somber occasion, anointed to formal “national holiday” celebration-recognition, causes such mayhem by its celebrants.

Don’t seel this much causal violence for Columbus Day.

Jesus Christ! This wasn’t a Juneteenth celebration. CNN once again with their heads up their behinds trying to make this something it isn’t. In what universe do people gather in a strip mall at 12:30am to celebrate a holiday? This was nothing more than thugs being thugs.

I’m betting the perps are back somewhere in Cook County or within the Chicago city limits by now.

I saw a group of cops at the local diner looking for them for over 1 hour yesterday.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
