Chicago Officials Look Toward More Sustainable Model in Aiding Thousands of Asylum Seekers – WTTW (Chicago)

“We are known as a welcoming city, we have an ordinance as such, and now this is building the infrastructure to be able to operationalize that concept,” said Cristina Pacione-Zayas, Mayor Brandon Johnson’s first deputy chief of staff. “We’re looking to partner with our community-based organizations so that they can staff our temporary shelters. They can also support the case management needed to be able to identify the permanent housing solutions, and we partner with the state to be able to cover six months of rental assistance so that individuals can start their life in Chicago and be on a path for sustainability and resettlement in our city.”

Sustainable model? Plane tickets back to their country of origin – far cheaper solution for Illinois and Chicago taxpayers.

Spend the resources to return them to their homelands.

These illegals are using up the resources meant for citizens. As usual for Illinois, crime is rewarded and taxpayers are victimized.
