Saying the city needs to “operationalize” its welcoming city promise, Johnson’s Deputy Chief of Staff Cristina Pacione-Zayas laid out a long term plan, indicating officials expect the influx of migrants to continue for some time. That strategy includes maintaining “supply space,” buying shelter sites to use when needed that can serve as community hubs when not, as well as advocating for immigration reform at the federal level “in a way that I don’t know if we’ve seen that before.”
Plan: “we will somehow spend $10,000/migrant/month, until money-sources run out”.
CTU: super-duper pleased by Mayor’s Office successful recruitment of hundreds of new CPS students.

NONE of these people are Asylum seekers, the laws of asylum are clear “neighboring country”, these people are fleeing their countries for “hand-outs” in America, local cities like them because they get to TAX their citizens more all of which is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
This is going to back-fire, teaching these people to BREAK the law will not make the “Good” citizens, it will only encourage BAD ones.

Why isn’t CTU/Brandon shipping the migrants all over the state like Adams is doing in NYC? The entire state of Illinois is a sanctuary state after all. And I’m sure JB would be happy to assist because it would be so politically popular (NOT!!)
Yup, that “program” is the greedy and grifting homeless “services” outfit called “Connections for the Homeless” – I’m part of a neighborhood group that is fighting their Margarita Inn homeless shelter. They have imported vagrants and crimininals into Evanston in order to provide them “services” – and you can guess “the rest of the story”. However, two lawsuits have been filed against them (one of them a class – action suit which I am part of), so hopefully we’ll get them shut down, Here is one suit: Landlord next door sues Margarita Inn owner to stop shelter operations https://evanstonroundtable.com/2023/05/03/neighboring-landlord-sues-margarita-inn-owner-to-stop-shelter-operations/ “The… Read more »
GM, keep us posted on the status of these lawsuits. That an existing landlord whose probably been paying property taxes and fees for years has any standing in the Peoples Republic of Evanston would be a surprise
Belleville, O’Fallon and Edwardsville could sure use some.

So, CTU/Brandon still has no idea how much taxpayers will be on the hook for the migrants? Also, where’s SEIU, AFSCME, CTU, etc demanding all the migrant staffing job are union?
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

I would LOVE a few bus loads shipped up here to The People’s Republik of Evanston, lol…
I think Evanston already has a program

Send them to Springfield, JB and his fellow Dems will welcome them with open arms.

They don’t need to make any demands, Brandon will quietly take care of them.
