CPS entered the last school year with 321,981 students, down 19.6% from 400,545 students 10 years ago. But the migrant crisis has finally stopped the bleeding. “That’s definitely one way for us to re-populate," said deputy chief of staff Cristina Pacione-Zayas. "But…we need to continue to double-down on practices and policy that continue to make Chicago Public Schools a space that is not only welcoming, but that is affirming for young people.”

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. but I thought, and we were told, the “replacement theory” was just a right wing conspiracy theory. Yet here they are, confirming that’s exactly what they plan on doing and are doing. Populating the CPS with millions of illegals…what can possibly go wrong ? And guess who foots the bill, the LEGAL citizens !
Yes, only good things can come from re-populating the schools with illegals. These are the same schools that gave us children who can’t read at grade level. Same as it ever was.
Affirming would be would be work hard, study, get good grades then you have a better chance of being successful in life. I somehow don’t think that’s the CPS definition of affirming.
How lovely that schools should be “affirming” for young people. Instead, how about making school worthwhile and essential by teaching students to read and do math. Cut the mumbo jumbo and let young people see the benefit of an education by showing them that a good academic record leads to a better life.
That stuck out for me too. The first thing CPS brags about in the article – how being ‘affirming’ is job 1 for taxpayer $’s funding the public school education of the children of illegal immigrants. And that this is good because there are so many of them that CPD will actually have more students enrolled this year than were enrolled in their ‘Decade of declining enrollments’ school district last year. Schools are woke madrases. Affirming IS the primary goal of education, just as much as Pakistani madrases pump out religious zealots. Today’s teachers have tried teaching kids to read and write, and they just aren’t very good at it. Much easier to convince a girl to become a boy. That is how they measure success!
Hmm, wasn’t that the plan all along? Next CPS will ask the Biden administration for increased educational funding to defray the costs of educating illegals. A real progressive blue state twofer.
