Who will bail out Chicago? – Stump

Actuary Mary Pat Campbell: You are more likely to get money from aliens to make Chicago solvent than to do it from either Illinois or the Feds.

Considering that Chicago public sector union pensions are the result of a decades long criminal collusion between unions and politicians, the taxpayers owe the unions ZERO. The votes-in-exchange-for-gold-plated-pensions scam is flat out organized crime and a RICO violation. The public sector unions can argue until their heads explode that they stole this money fair and square but that doesn’t change the facts that it is pure and simple criminal collusion. I personally feel no need to pay for this profligate mugging.

Too bad you’re not an IL judge. Instead, it appears that basically your heated opinion is worth bupkis.

My opinion is the opinion of most sensible Chicagoan’s. Ultimately the public pension folks well end up with bupkis when the money runs out.

Pensions Paid First

hahahahahaha. Good luck with that TPG. Look to Harvey Illinois for answers. Massive layoffs and services cut but pensions are still being paid. The best you can hope for with Chicago is a 5 or 10% cut far down the road. Politically it’s a non-starter right now. Maybe some day you’ll get your wish. In the meantime, steaks and fine wine are on the menu along with cruising on the 40 foot sea ray. Life is good.

Poor Taxpayer

No one will bail them out, it will end up in the courts. Taxpayers will be the biggest losers as always. It is total unsustainable as it is now. Nothing but a system set up to screw over everyone involved. The unions knew there was no way it was affordable but did not care.

Maybe if JoeyB is reelected in 2024 he will somehow in his rapidly declining cognitive state agree for the Feds to bail out Taxistan.

I’m fine with a Fed bailout of Taxistan if the Illinois public sector unions are also required to help bailout SS.

Seems like a fair trade off.
