Chicago group wants gangbangers to refrain from firing guns between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. – CWB Chicago

“Not everyone is willing to drop their beef,” said Tatiana Atkins, co-founder of Native Sons. “If you aren’t mentally and emotionally equipped to solve disputes in a healthy manner, if you can’t help but harm each other – do so in a capacity in which children, elderly and those not involved in high-risk activities are less likely to be affected.”

Also, please no carjackings during school pick-up and drop-off times. Kids get taken accidentally. Thank you for your cooperation.

This is definitely one of my favorite all-time Chicago stories. Could you gang members and shooters please just work defined work hours and not feel like it is ok to shoot people twenty four hours a day. After all, just about everyone else works during specific employment hours, so you should too. We have hours for leaf blowers, construction noise, etc., so we have plenty of precedent.

Actually a gang banger could increase his life expectancy by hitting the sack by 9 pm on Saturday night…..

This may be the dumbest thing I’ve read all year, and keep in mind I occasionally read the posts at CrapFax! These morons expect the gangbangers and thugs to limit their target practice from 9pm to 9am? Based on what, the highly principled behavior of gangbangers and thugs? Good luck.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
