Who causes “food deserts?” I’m pretty sure it’s the people who live there and steal, loot, rob and destroy everything. But as a democrat Pritzger has to blame someone other than those responsible.

Yes, the typical IL pol response is to throw taxpayer money at the problem. But who would be foolish enough to open a grocery store in an area where shoplifting and armed robbery are commonplace?
Food deserts aren’t a real thing. There are often grocery stores no more than a 10-15 drive away. Even the term ‘food desert’ is a fake made up liberal term. The reason why the grocery store is 10-15 minutes away is because the local residents buy all their food at gas stations and corner stores, because they eat crappy garbage food. They aren’t making home cooked healthy meals using beans, rice and cheap meats, like other ethnicities. Food deserts don’t exist in hispanic or south asian neighborhoods.
Once again, the state defaults to using our money to paper over the real problem because it’s the easy news headline.
Total, 100 percent BS. This has nothing to do with groceries or food shortages or anything else food or poor people related. It is another handout to the greenie, phony global warming scammers. So the stores’ lower electric bills will lead to more food stores in the inner city? Can anyone stop laughing at this?

Food deserts exist where there are moral compass deserts. When more people walk out without paying than actually pay for their food, the stores close. Tax breaks don’t solve that problem. JB will never acknowledge this inconvenient truth. So now we have a new pretend program that will solve nothing.
It baffles me that there is such a concept. If a so called food desert exists its the consequence of something and odinarily an enterprising fellow would step in to take advantage of the situation and thereby eliminate the “desert.” Apparently this is not happening in these so called food deserts.
