Chicago is planning to send a delegation to the Texas border with Mexico to meet with government officials and nongovernmental organizations, and give migrants a more realistic portrayal of what they might expect in Chicago. Cristina Pacione-Zayas, Mayor Brandon Johnson’s first deputy chief of staff, said the Texas border trip will be used, in part, to warn migrants about Chicago winters.

All just political diversion- shift the news cycle attention over to the “trip” and reduce the heat from homefront constituants complaints. Looks like two woke mayors are booking a tropical vacation in Mexico. Who believes the marshalled prospective border-jumpers will listen to them, understand them. Do these mayors speak Spanish, or Chinese, or Arabic dialect, or any of the other 3 dozen languages noted of “recently arriving migrants”?. We’ve been repeatedly told that migrants don’t necessarily speak or understand English language, that translation services are needed at shelters. Right, warning migrants about Chicago winters will dissuade them from coming up here. After all, who could survive cold winters (except a significant amount of the world’s population century after century)?
