Alds. Anthony Napolitano and Anthony Beale have sponsored a resolution to add a referendum to March 2024 primary ballots in Chicago, asking voters if the city should keep its sanctuary city designation. A second proposal asks for alderpeople to be notified if they are receiving buses full of migrants in their wards.
Put if up for a vote and it would go down in flames

The voters already have this option on election day. Choosing the Mayor and Governor that ran on promises of sanctuary city/state has had its consequences and now the voters, including the ones that did not vote, are getting what they voted for. No new non binding elections that would amount to another waste of money are needed,
Agreed. People need to vote differently if it actually bothers them that much. Otherwise, open up your wallet and start paying for all these migrants that your representative wants to support.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
