Chicago has no plan for controlling the migrant crisis – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about how the migrant crisis has Chicago in chaos, how Venezuelans are lying in order to get asylum, how researchers set to talk on gender dysmorphia have once again been ‘canceled’, how Pritzker is forcing Illinois residents to beg for an extension of the Invest in Kids Act, and more.

Elections have consequences. Nothing here was unexpected. I hope that everyone that is complaining took the time to vote.

Things are rapidly deteriorating with the JB/Brandon migrant train-wreak. Today on my trip to my NW side neighborhood Jewel there are now migrant moms with tiny kids out in traffic selling candy at intersections competing w US panhandlers. Migrant panhandlers with tiny kids at each Jewel entrance tugging at your heart strings. At newly open migrant shelter for 500 open w ZERO community meetings, literally 20 feet from shelter you got guys, I assume who don’t want to stay in shelter, camped out in the woods and underpasses….That’s to go along with all the usual existing US homeless/ addicts that… Read more »

William J. Kelley, I think the same guy that shouted down Lightfoot at City Hall a few months ago, claims the CTA astroturfed the Brighton Park meeting and locked out thousands of legitimate people from having their voices heard. This is huge!

Maybe we should follow the lead of “socialist” Denmark (which is not “socialist”). They are forcing people out of ghettos to integrate them with Danish society. Gangs, drugs, and crime are rife in these mostly Muslim immigrant neighborhoods in Scandinavia, Sweden especially. Excellent NY Times article, paywalled, but below some excerpts: “The welfare society is fundamentally a community, which is based on a mutual trust that we all contribute,” Denmark’s prime minister, Mette Frederiksen said. “All that is being seriously challenged by parallel societies…” Denmark Aims a Wrecking Ball at ‘Non-Western’ Neighborhoods A government program is using demolition and relocation to remake… Read more »

“Forcing people out of ghettos” means Denmark now proposes the mass relocation Moslem immigrants from its Moslem-majority enclaves (“ghettos”) to areas that don’t have concentrated populations of Moslem-majority residents. Meaning, middle-class “Danish” neighborhoods of mostly market-rate housing stock. 1) Does that also mean Denmark’s current “ghetto-residing” Moslem immigrant welfare recipients of said demolished social housing will be relocated to new likewise-subsidized social housing elsewhere, in more “Danish” neighborhoods? 2) Does it mean numerous unemployed Moslem immigrant young adult men will be compelled to work for wages, to pay their families (parents/mother’s) now market-rate rent, in lieu of remaining recipients of… Read more »

The so called elites all want this invasion. You, the deplorable complaining about the invasion, YOU are the problem, not the illegal immigrant. The elites love the economic concept of labor moving to capital, brings cheap labor, GDP growth, population growth etc to countries with low birth rates. They complain there is a mismatch on the earth between where birth rates are high, but poor, and low birth rates in rich countries. The Democrats love it because all these immigrants will eventually get amnesty, millions and millions of them, and they and their children will all vote Democrat at a… Read more »

debtor and Old Joe, see the eye – opening article I just posted above about how Denmark is addressing their immigration problem – they are dispersing people from poor ghetto areas – and forcefully! I wonder what commie Bernie Sanders and other libtards who praise Denmark as “socialist” think of this, lol… I like this gal who is Denmark’s PM, we could use a few hundred like her here in the States…!!! A great quote: “The welfare society is fundamentally a community, which is based on a mutual trust that we all contribute,” Denmark’s prime minister, Mette Frederiksen said. “All… Read more »

Leftists and liberal elites endorsed “open borders” with assumption that their own lives would remain largely unaffected, thinking that the low-paying manual labor job-market and working-class neighborhoods will quietly absorb these folks. The “undocumented migrants” were assumed to become the nameless faceless folks cutting the grass, making the beds, and manning the factory posts. But now the unfortunate reality has set in, too big a problem to deny; it costs massive amounts of taxpayer monies to feed, house, transport, and entertain these “recently-arriving migrants”, and their own “kin” don’t want them in their neighborhoods. Witness Brighton Park protests, Hispanic residents… Read more »

These particular migrants cost a lot to house and feed. Previous waves of immigrants did not. My relatives arriving in Chicago in 1868 from Northern Italy didn’t show up expecting a handout, sleeping on the floor of the local police station. These migrants are more like that dytopian 1960’s French novel Camp of the Saints, according to Dickipedia, a A speculative fictional account, it depicts the destruction of Western civilization through Third World mass immigration to France and the Western world as millions of illegals flood and overwhelm the Europe. It’s truly the worst. I wish I could get into… Read more »

Old Joe, see the article I just posted about Denmark, they are forcibly removing poor immigrants from ghettos. Denmark has also really put the kibosh on immigration, they have a nice society and don’t want to see it ruined. They readily deport “asylum – seekers”, primarily those from Muslim countries… critics call it “inhumane”, I call it “common sense”…

We were doing the same thing here by demolishing the projects like Cabrini Green. It’s a lot harder for people to cause trouble when they can’t organize and don’t have the numbers to overwhelm law enforcement.

Demolishing the CHA high rises certainly disrupted the organized gangs that fought each other to control the flow of drugs and contraband into the towers. News articles from the 90’s often describe that a significant portion of the city’s violent crime arose in or around those projects. It was just a constant back and forth between one rival gang shooting another rival gang for temporary control. These days the shootings are still gangs, but they are less organized, and more dispersed. Gangs may control a couple of blocks of a neighborhood now rather than one specific tower in a housing… Read more »

Unfortunately burbs like Plainfield, Shorewood, New Lenox and others are seeing an exponential increase in crime, much of it caused by arrivals from Cook County/ Chicago. The notion that taking the trouble out of the troublemakers by changing their scenery is patently false. It’s also interesting that Kenilworth and other such lofty environs have managed to dodge this failed social experiment as well as having the prospect of having illegals snuck under the wire as Joliet almost did.

It’s called the magic dirt theory. It’s the magical dirt in a specific location that makes the inhabitants safe, prosperous and wealthy. All you need to do is transport people from the cursed dirt to the magic dirt, and everything gets better. You see, most of third world has cursed dirt, and if we transport all of the third world to the US, where we have magic dirt, then the inhabitants will be better because the properties imbibed in the magical dirt transfers, via osmosis, to the former third world resident. Don’t question my theory, it’s unfalsifiable and requires near… Read more »

“The notion that taking the trouble out of the troublemakers by changing their scenery is patently false.” This isn’t what I sand and you have no idea what you’re talking about. Removing the ability for these criminal enterprises to organize, communicate, make money, and recruit will slow down organized crime and racketeering. The old project high rises literally provided gangs with all of these necessities. Police presence plays a factor in this too. Shoplifiting, theft and battery are a whole different problem. I’ve explained before here that video games and online criminal culture play a significant influence on impressionable youth.… Read more »

Audio: Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon says Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades – Chicago’s Morning Answer

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
