Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Aren’t we all getting tired of these people who vote for Democrats complaining about what the Democrats are doing to them? It is really getting old. Who are your state senators, state reps, aldermen, mayor, Cook County officials and local judges. How dumb are you folks that you can’t figure this out?
They’re not dumb, they understand. They’re just hateful bigots. They’d rather get mugged and deal with high crime, than share a public policy position with a republican. I took me a long time, and a liberal wine aunt, to realize, they really hate you and I. TDS was the best example of how millions of people collectively lost their minds because of hateful rage.
