Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. It’s a huge problem! One of the migrants I know bought a car a few days ago. This is a very old problem. I remember when all the illegal aliens in my small hometown would give the name of “Jose Gonzales” when they were arrested (mostly for “drunk and disorderly”). It was a running joke. None had ID of any kind.
Last year I had some paperwork come across my desk. There’s a database that law enforcement can access that shows social security number usage. It showed this one particular natural born african-american citizen had THREE other illegal hispanic immigrants using his social security number to work. They’re using his social security number but their own name. It’s totally screwed up if you think about it because the guy was a minor during most of the time others were using his SSN. The average citizen has no way of even knowing who is using his social security number. The IRS knows.… Read more »
