Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

Folks, say goodbye to America. Once they’re working ya know what’s comes next….that’s right … drivers licences cause they gotta get to work …. then they’ll get to vote cause we can’t have taxation without representation. They’ll start out with local elections and the school boards and then expand into Presidential elections. Obama will call it “fundamental transformation.”
I think they get driver’s licenses now in Illinois at least. The headline I remember went something like then they can buy auto insurance, I can’t say but there are a lot of immigrants without health insurance and I would assume health insurance would come first so I assume there are a lot of drivers out there with no insurance. (Note: I do not nor have I ever sold insurance but I would advise all making sure you have enough uninsured underinsured motorists coverage because of the immigrant issue if for no other reason.)
I’m sure all these responsible citizens doing donuts in city intersections in the evening have full insurance coverage. Things should be OK!
Just had my license renewed. The usual mega crowd at the Sec. of State’s office and despite all of the problems with bad eyesight, multiple licenses from different states, lost licenses, no licenses, lengthy lists of traffic infractions and social responsibility filings for no insurance; everyone got back on the road in only 2 1/2 hours! Gov. jobs and $$$ come before public safety.
this fed pilot program is being rolled out in deep blue sanctuary cities only?
Wait until the next recession, when there are hundreds of thousands of hungry, homeless and unemployed illegal immigrants.
My take is that this is a pilot program that will provide Pritzker and the Democrats a few cherry picked immigrant situations to tout on national convention day along with Pritzker’s headlines about making Illinois the battery state of the nation. What a great deal for Pritzker using the publics money for his headlines
1) won’t this program just attract tons more migrants? 2) I’m sure this program will go over big in Black community?
