Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Migrants will slow to a trickle over the next several months. Most of these men don’t even have winter jackets as they wade across the Rio Grande.
So they can’t spend more than 60 days but won’t be evicted. How intriguing. So will they then move to County shelters or perhaps State shelters. Maybe they will be scattered around across the State al la Cabrini Green relocations. Or perhaps best of all, those liberal voting northerners accept them into their homes as a gesture of their liberalness.
In 60 days we will be in the middle of January and they will all be frozen to death.
