Israel-Hamas protests disrupt life in Democrats’ convention city – Politico

A photograph of a protester wearing a Chicago Bulls jersey waving a Palestinian flag. Escalating tensions over the war between Israel and Hamas are disrupting the city and dividing Democrats as they prepare to show unity in nominating the president to a second term next summer. Illinois’ congressional delegation is divided, too. All but two members supported a resolution on Israel’s right to defend itself. Rep. Delia Ramirez, a Democrat, voted no, and Rep. Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, also a Democrat, voted present.

Attention all anarchists. Please visit Chicago during the democrstic national convention on August 2024. BLM, Antifa etc come here and show the democrats your best stuff. Don’t worry about cops because they can do nothing to disrupt First Amendment protests per a CPD general order. Damage, destroy as much as you like, the democrats will love you. Come one come all, bring your rocks, spray paint and anything else that can break a window. Remember, First Amendment protests are fully protected. CPD General Order 2-02

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who is teaching at Harvard University this semester”… while she has no place in higher education, I still can’t believe how many people would prefer her back (or Rahm even) at this point. Too bad they’re all too jaded and will keep voting the exact same way every time, straight up brainwashed.

This is pretty much a Democrat problem and quite ironic. The majority of Jews are Democrats, but they are finding that the progressive Democrats are loudly pro Palestine. Will these Jewish voters look toward the Republicans which are almost all pro Israel? Kind of fun watching the progressive movement alienating moderate Democrats which moderate Democrats should have seen coming, but tolerated anyway.

No, they most certainly won’t vote Republican. They hate you and your values, you deplorable hick, and they certainly won’t be voting for your politicians either.

Not so sure about that. Orthodox jews are very republican. Voted +45 Trump in last two elections. The far left jews will remain brainwashed but the middle may shift to the right.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
