A Senate Judiciary Committee hearing descended into chaos Thursday, with Republican members criticizing Chairman Dick Durbin, saying that he will face "consequences" for not allowing GOP members to speak. "Congratulations on destroying the United States Senate Judiciary Committee," Cornyn added.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

If I were on that committee, I would make a point of saying Senator DICK Durbin in every sentence I spoke, as in, “This committee is being held hostage by DICK Durbin, that’s right, Senator DICK Durbin of Illinois, the senior senator sitting right there, DICK Durbin. What do you have to say for yourself, DICK Durbin?”
Would be even funnier if Marsha Blackburn did it.
The stay in office because it grants them, and their cronies, more leverage against looming indictments.
Democrats seem enamored with authoritarianism and censorship. Just look at Biden, and now his minion Durbin.
When the republicans are in control, my prayer is they do not play nice in the sand box. They have to continue to bring light, from the darkness. Illinois republicans are silent and non- existent.
As Mitch McConnell warned years ago, when the Democrats overturned the filibuster for judicial appointments:
“And I hope that you understand that you can’t have it both ways. It can’t be a rare procedure and be a procedure that dominates the actual business of the Senate as this has done for so many years.”
Durbin has condemned the Judiciary Committee to one-party rule. The Senate and the Republic are poorly served.
Durbin’s expiration date passed a few decades ago. No redeeming qualities whatsoever, and always trying to grab another dollar out of the taxpayer’s pocket. Typical leftist elite, he tries to silence those he doesn’t agree with, and that’s nothing new for old Dick. Just go away already, and take your lobbyist wife with you.
When Durbin was a local official, he was considered to be a conservative, anti abortion, low taxes, etc. But to become a national Democrat, he had to become the left wing liberal. His overall record is that of hypocrisy.
Why be a democrat if you cannot also be a hypocrite?
He’s 79 years old and his term doesn’t end until 2027. He’ll be 82 running for re-election. This stunt today is all about re-election. I thought maybe he was going to retire at 82 in 2027 but apparently not. He’s playing the game, showing any potential usurpers that HE can fight the good fight against the fascists enemies: Republicans. Brandon may have to wait a little longer his Dick’s senate seat.

Based on Durbin denying Senator Blackburn’s motion to subpoena Jeffrey Epstein’s passenger manifests on the Lolita Express, it sure sounds like Durbin was a Lolita Express passenger himself or is protecting people who were involved in this criminality. Pedophilia for me but not for thee.
What a horrible display of arrogance and power. And we wonder why this state is one of, in not the worst represented state in the union.
