Progressive Ald. Jeanette Taylor levels harsh criticism of Brandon Johnson in podcast interview – ABC7 (Chicago)

Referencing the progressive movement that she and Mayor Brandon Johnson have been part of for years, the outspoken alderperson said on the Ben Jovarsky Show, "A, we should not be on the fifth floor. And I'm speaking my whole heart. We were not ready because we haven't been in government long enough to know how government really works. I felt like we not ready and it's showing out in the wash. I don't got to say it, people see it. We're pretending like now we got the power, let us show you how it's supposed to be done. And we look real stupid, right now."

It’s really quite a fascinating interview. I listened to the whole thing. She is found-mouthed and blunt, but apparently candid and even principled in a way, in the sense that she sticks to what she believes. A good insight into the mess that is the progressive left. Listen to the whole thing here. https://art19.com/shows/the-ben-joravsky-show/episodes/bf376c81-4e78-4e27-ba87-8b0cb8fbcee2

It *was* pretty “interesting”… change names/location and it sounds like a screed from by someone conducting a marxist/maoist “self – criticism” session… I’ve heard very similar from former communist East German/Soviet Politburo members… “betrayed”… “solidarity”… “principles”… etcetera… Also, nothing new, but I’m still amazed that she’s blaming everything on “race” – she sincerely *believes* all the anti – white/capitalist claptrap she spouts… I *did* snicker when she slammed Ultimate Narcissist Obama… I mean how f*ckin’ naive can a person be…!!!??? Besides all that, it might be somewhat amusing to have her for a drinking buddy, lol… she knows how to… Read more »

LOL they are stupid. They’re all low IQ. They’d be better of taking the business community’s bribes and campaign cash and doing whatever they want. At least the city would be better run and better of for it, despite the insane corruption aka Chicago from 1890-2018.

Not a lot of confidence in CTU/Brandon & his crew if you go on Capfax either. I’m sure fat boy’s sweating with dem convention on the line.

Yes, even those commenters, which are mostly establishment, state government Dems (Miller rigs the comments to block most others), clearly show that they know what a shitshow Chicago is. They could step in and fix it since the state has overriding power on most everything, but they don’t, leaving their nonfeasance on full display.

We can only hope for the best – God bless the cops who will have to deal with the convention next summer.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
