The report by outside contractor Terracon Consultants said high levels of mercury and other chemicals were found and are being removed from the Brighton Park lot, where workers had already begun building the giant tents for incoming migrants this week. But the hefty document was only released Friday night to those filing an open records request despite being at the heart of roiling controversy over the site and a repeated vow from Johnson to keep the public informed. As of Friday evening, officials in Gov. JB Pritzker’s administration had yet to see the report, even though the state is covering the cost of setting up and operating the tent encampment.
But if an inspector from the Chicago Department of Health finds a mouse dropping within 300 ft of your business you’ll get fined.

Usually, cleaning such toxic waste sites take months if not years. Seems like all Johnson did was scrape the topsoil a little bit, and, voila, all clean, no follow-up testing. These were some pretty toxic materials that usually have lots of hazmat warnings.
Exactly Wally it takes years to cleanup a site, someone is lying like holy hell and I bet Pritzker is involved somehow someway.

Pretty sad for these illegal immigrants to travel all that way to live in a tent in the middle of a Chicago winter and be exposed to toxic conditions for their trouble. Thank you Joe Biden and JB Pritzker, neither of whom really care.

Out of all the mountains & mountains of empty lots, empty commercial properties, empty cps schools, etc why in the world did team CTU/Brandon insist on pursuing toxic Brighton Park site for migrant tent camp? The entire sage is an incompetence train wreck with apparently state now having to step in. Today, per capfax, the iron workers union was threatening to shut down the tent erected because they’re not using union iron workers, really??….it’s rapidly becoming apparent team CTU/Brandon is completely incompetent. It’s a “raggedy” show.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

Apparently the State of Illinois EPA is also just now getting report and will have to review & approve
Lawyers will be lining up to sue the city/state on behalf of illegal aliens (aka:invaders) harmed by the toxic soil.
Insanity, thy name is Illinois politicians.
Brighton Park will soon be said in the same way as “Roundup” or “Camp LeJeune”. Will the lawyers be salivating?
Maybe the city workers who worked prepping the site can start filing lawsuits for being exposed to hazardous waste?….wouldn’t that be rich
Here’s jb/ the state having to step in to solve union labor disputes, https://capitolfax.com/2023/12/01/pritzker-says-state-has-settled-labor-dispute-at-migrant-tent-city/
