Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I am also coming back to Chirac for revenge over unwarranted parking tickets, high taxes, street crime and police corruption ( bribery ). The Democratic Convention will be LIT! Figuratively and literally as looting and rioting, complete with Molotov cocktails, will break out.
The Dem convention will be such a ship show (and broadcast nationwide) that I expect it will bookend the fall of Chicago. Similar to the 1967 Detroit riot during Old Joe’s youth. And it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving bunch of progressive pols.
Back in the day of Daily, the cops would bust heads. Now cops do not respond, so we will see what happens.
I don’t think Pritzker and Johnson expected the Abbot situation to happen. Those two were all for the immigrant thing but only if it was in someone else’s back yard. This situation may set back both of their goals for future office and as for Pritzker, combined with the Gotion thing, the Convention might just not work out the way he had planned. Too bad for JB because things’ unfolded too big and too fast so not even the media can hide it these days.
The tent, which is canceled due to being put up on hazardous waste, was only going to hold 1,500. A horde of 12,000 illegals crossed in 1 day!!! Pritzker, Biden, and Democrats are malevolent in their handling of illegals – this was all completely intentional. Poor Johnson, can’t figure if he’s coming or going as he blames everyone else for the fiasco.

Imagine Biden drops out at the convention and the Dem fat cats install Newsom instead of Kamala.
Stay far, far away from the United Center and downtown Chicago August 19-22.

Yes, but the white house has Team Biden and Team Kamala. There’s no overlap between the two. There’s been long standing rumors that these two teams are at loggerheads, presumably because Team Kamala was under the impression they would be sitting in the West Wing and not on the side lines. But the the problem is that the moment Biden steps aside, Kamala (like every new administration) will clean house, and put in place her own administration. I agree, but if Biden doesn’t make it, any top down Dem decision to install their choice and ignore their voters will be met with lefty protests. I also realize the Dem leadership doesn’t care what their voters think, but today’s Dem infighting is still going to be present in August, and may even get worse. Inexplicably, Kamala is popular with Dem voters and was the leading choice to replace Biden in a recent poll, which is nuts.
