Chicago government agencies are masters at mediocrity. Intelligent people are suspect.
It is obvious by now that the Chicago voters and parents could care less about the educational status of their children.
Mediocrity would be an improvement for CPS.
Will these massive vestiges of past racism and segregation be repurposed? Some, like Lane Tech could be easily used as immigrant camps.
Unlike capitalism, it doesn’t take brains or effort to rule under communism, only the fist. Communists will have no competition with humans that can think.
It’s no wonder education is being forced to fail.

One mistake I make posting this is it’s Rockford,Michigan not Illinois but at least people are getting upset around the country. Sorry because I’m getting bent out of shape over the news. Rockford school district wants to raise their levy to the max of 5% and the city of Belvidere also wants to raise the levy to the max. This is just the beginning.

BUT BUT CPS/CTU says that the goal to is make *every* school academically challenging and high performing, which means there’s no need for selective and magnet schools any more.
Can’t we just take them at their word? Are we not listening to them? Every school will be good.
Excellence in teaching will NEVER happen if CTU is involved. That would take work and firing the incompetent. Work is a foreign concept to the leeches of CTU and since nearly all CTU members are incompetent that would be too much of a hit on the union dues so ….it will NEVER happen.
