Chicago Residents Reject Blaming Greg Abbott for Migrant Crisis – Newsweek

Chicago Migrants Abbott Immigration"There are at least seven lawsuits against the city of Chicago, including three filed by people of color, according to The Free Press. One was filed by Chicago West Side resident Cata Truss, a 57-year-old mother. Another was filed by former Texas U.S. House of Representatives candidate J. Darnell Jones, a Democrat, DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) strategist and reparations proponent who lives in Chicago's South Side. "

I also suspect that JB is facing quite the dilemma right now. He literally begged Gov. Abbott to stop sending busloads of migrants to Chicago and now Abbott IS taking decisive action to stop it. But JB, as a faithful progressive Democrat, dare not agree with or say anything nice about an evil MAGA Republican like Abbott. He’ll have to come up with some convoluted reasoning as to why Abbott is all wrong and rebellious and insurrectiony and the Biden Administration is doing the right thing.

It has been suggested on Twitter/X that Americans who support Gov. Abbott’s border actions and want the border secured fly Texas flags as a show of support — similar to those who fly blue and white Ukraine flags or Star of David flags as a show of solidarity with Ukraine or Israel. If this idea catches on — you heard it here first! — expect to see certain neighborhoods in Chicago suddenly awash in Lone Star banners.

Interesting situation to say the least. Chicago is a sanctuary city in a sanctuary state while Texas is not so why the blame? Could it be that the Chicagoans don’t want to blame someone they voted for? Heaven forbid it couldn’t be that with Johnson being black and Abbot white that racism has an element in the matter? Maybe Chicagoans need to recognize that it is their fault for electing Johnson who supports sanctuary and if they voted for him because he is black then perhaps the situation is simple karma repaying the voters for their racism.

It’s Biden’s fault. Time to kick stumbling, bumbling, mumbling Joe to the curb.

And then there would be stumbling, bumbling, word salad, oral specialist Kammy Harris in the Oval Office. Trading very bad for worse may not be a good idea

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
