Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Hey the CTU can’t seem to teach its students anything in English, maybe they’ll do better in Spanish? I also can’t wait to see some of these kids coming back and telling their parents about their LGBTQ classes. I bet it will go over about as well as it did in Hamtramck, Michigan.
Does ANY other country in the world offer free language classes to illegal immigrants or even legal immigrants? Why in the world should the tax payers in the US be required to re-educate illegal immigrants to teach them the language of this country? If they wanted to come here, they should have learned the language before they left home. Of course the School Districts want Mo-mony. Mo-mony, mo-mony…for mo-programs. The entire immigration and boarder protection issue is wrong. Close the damn boarder.
ESL courses should be just a step on the road to becoming an American. The CPS/CTU attitude is just another avenue to keep language teachers employed. They really don’t care if a teacher of German is standing before a class of Spanish speaking gatecrashers trying to teach English because an ineffective ESL1 creates the need for an ESL2 and the dues payment continues to flow.
More funding is needed to support the Democrat party’s new friends from across the globe? This should cause the blacks, generally rock solid Democrats, to take note as their seats at the table are being routinely given away to the new migrants by the Democrats.
