These golf carts will make a fine rust outline as they sit still, about as productive as the patronage hires who dreamed up and ordered them. Resting silently at the back of the bus storage yard while the diesel and LNG powered buses do actual work, like the taxpayers that end up paying for their virtue signaling.

Little Pete Buttigieg gets crazy excited when he thinks about electric buses. He just loves them. Forget about the fact they are completely impractical and won’t last long. They’re electric!

I’ll bet these will be great in the winter…. I wonder…has the morons making these decisions in the City of Chicago done the math on how much power these buses need to charge, included the cost of building the new substations and generating plants to provide the power, how much time is needed for them to charge, how the temperature impacts their performance? huh, anyone – No of course not. This will be another multi-billion dollar waste of money. Another oops. Another channel for corruption and graft. This has got to stop.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
