Is anyone really surprised by his incompetency? He’s a union organizer, has he ever negotiated a contract where he didn’t have the leverage of going on strike on his side. To expect him to understand what leverage he has, if any, is really being naive. Look for more situations like this as he fumbles his way through the rest of his term.

All I can offer is thank God Brandon, the finest Toni Preckwinkle and the Chicago Teacher’s Union has to offer, is the mayor of Chicago, and not piloting an airplane (or a nurse.)

How about (mostly black) people stop shooting people?
Wait for it…RACISM!

Correct- Much of the crime is black on black yet where is the Rev. Al Sharpton to address the issue. He only shows his face if a white cop shoots anyone of color. Tragically a death is still a death regardless of skin color. I thought life is supposed to be a gift or blessing yet shootings and murders continue.

The obvious answer no one in polite company will speak is that THEY WANT TO KEEP SHOOTING EACH OTHER. They want to live in a world where they can shoot at each other without being bothered by the police or white people. “But Debtsor, this is crazy! That can’t be true! People don’t want to live like that!” Yes, grasshopper, they do. The world is filled with all different kinds of cultures, like in the middle east where women willingly and happily submit to Islamic rules, or the Amish that live a backwards lifestyle, or in Gaza where they marry… Read more »

He would make for a great main character in a Shakespeare tragedy, no? The doltish, puppet leader of a large metropolis that couldn’t go to the border ( he had three BLACK children and a BLACK wife to raise by himself on the BLACK West Side, you know) yet found time to hang with rappers at the Grammys. A king that can’t pay his water bills or traffic fines until compelled to do so. A king that checks into the hospital for anxiety attacks. Rex Raggedy has it all.

He’s not as stupid as the folks that voted for him.

Illinois has not had valid elections in my lifetime I would bet, especially most recently. Until we get back to one ballot on paper and on one day all counted in 24 hrs then your vote is only valuable as a place holder they can manipulate. The big voter registration drives is only for names and addresses (to be used multiple times).

This doesn’t solve the problem. The problem really is that the election judges in 95%+ areas are pulling ballots for absent voters and ballot harvesting on the side before election.

It’s the perfect crime. Who is going to travel into bad, high crime neighborhoods to verify the person voting is really the person voting? They dont’ even have Republican election judges in those neighborhoods.

I agree with Deptsor. When I was young and stupid during the late 70s I canvassed a part of Roger’s Park looking for spurious voters. After reporting my findings to the authorities, those ghosts still appeared on the voters list for the following election. Why bother to vote? Aldercreature Esther Saperstein had to be sued for the return of the unearned salary.

I’m absolutely hoping for an extremely tumultuous democratic convention in August. Riots, burning and looting that matches or exceeds the BLM/Antifa “peaceful demonstrations” that were experienced regarding the Saint Floyd issue. Remember the police were told to back off from those rioters so let’s hope the same rules apply. Hopefully the bottom of the totem pole (politically incorrect term) patrol officer has read the tea leaves and does not jeopardize their future by being proactive versus the protesters, rioters, looters and arsonists, and let them, the protesters, have their way. Get the popcorn, fasten your seatbelt and get ready for… Read more »

I anticipate spoofing and jamming of the CPD encrypted communications channels. HackRF and other SDR low cost engineering tools have been available recently. Must give the ruling classes the shivers!

What an uplifting headline to start the day off right. Meanwhile I can see the headline drafting going on at the moment behind the scenes with lines peppered with the words racism, white supremacy and white privilege being thrown about. These headlines will assure the Chicago voters that their beloved chocolate Mayor is being picked on by the evil YT once again and will no doubt garner future votes for him once again. It is the new Chicago; get used to it.

Conehead is not a smart man. I’m sure when ShotSpotter gets turned off and his voting bloc starts turning up dead, he’ll check himself in to a mental hospital for the fourth time since taking office.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
